In today’s convoluted online mass of internet players, there are so many paths you can choose to go down to position yourself and your products online but the one constant you must not overlook is your ability stay out of your prospects deleted email file.

Pay Per Click, ezines, newsletters, webinars and the like are all great marketing tools but if you can’t master email marketing it will be tough to succeed. Why? Our entire socioeconomic lives changed in the early 1990’s when old school snail mail was replaced with lightening fast email. We live in a world now of instant gratification and speed to market and email is our catalyst to take advantage of this.

There are a few simple steps we can take in positioning ourselves with our message to market when applying a solid email platform to any product or service.

First and foremost, with our inboxes getting overloaded with junk mail, we must be able to construct a compelling headline and message to capture our audience. This is absolutely crucial or as the saying goes, it will go in file 13 faster than the click of your mouse button.

Second, using “emotional words” such as secret, collapse, meltdown, revealing, attraction and many more, this will ensure that your marketing emails do not get sent to the recycle bin forever.

Thirdly, the overall length of your email must be kept short as we already know most are working under the “don’t tell me how to build the car, just tell me how fast it goes” mentality. People want to be immediately enticed and shown some simple examples and stories as to your offerings, otherwise you will lose them.

Facts tell and stories sell could not be more effectual in this scenario. We only have a few seconds to lure our audience to read on without them scrolling down to the next 89 emails.

To the novice email marketer one might say, how can email be so effective when it is essentially free to incorporate into your marketing campaigns? There is nothing on the internet that will attract my audience for free. Wrong! In the internet game of selling and marketing there is nothing more powerful than the written word made into a compelling story. When people are typing something into Google, they are looking for answers to very specific questions. If you take the time to learn effective ad copy, are willing to test many different types of hypnotic words and be consistent in your email campaigns so that people begin to know your material and products, you may just be the one they are looking for in their next Google Search!

I firmly believe that using email is still a great way to promote, market and profit your online business. And the fact that it is free email marketing makes it even better.

Free advertising works and I use it every day.  Don’t let anyone tell you that it is a waste of time.

I also have come to the conclusion that being consistent, giving people what they are looking for will usually result in you benefitting and profiting.

Using free email marketing resources is a great way to get seen and heard. It has been proven time and time again that Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days to send out marketing emails. Friday also seems to be the day for people to actually open their emails. Maybe they are cleaning their in-boxes or are looking for an online opportunity. In any case, preferably sending emails in the morning will enable people to read them during lunch breaks and after work and even late into the night Most internet users delete emails that having boring headlines and emails from people they do not recognize. To ensure all of your emails are read, it is important to have an eye catching headline. Also, keep your ad short and to the point. 4-6 lines is preferred.

Sending your email campaigns in programs like Yahoo and Google is a must. Yahoo has thousands of Groups in hundreds of niche specific markets. The same goes for Google Groups. If you don’t mail to these targeted groups you are literally missing out on sending your ads to 1,000,000′s of people and potential signups and sales. Go to Yahoo or Google browser and type in groups. You should also track your clickthrough rates. If you see website traffic increased to your email campaigns, keep advertising. Try using different headlines and ad copy. This will also determine which ad works the best.

There are literally thousands of ways to advertise online.  Free email marketing is absolutely an effective and useful tool for advertising your online business. And the fact that it is free, makes it all the better.  Everyone is striving to be successful online and you will have to work had to be heard and to be one of the best.
